CEO, Generations For Peace
Lama Hattab is a board member of Generations For Peace USA and the CEO of the Generations For Peace headquarters in Amman, Jordan.
Lama brings over 17 years of experience in designing and implementing programs to address issues of violence, systemic bias, and hatred across Africa, Asia, Europe, the United States, and the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region. She holds a master’s degree in Social Cohesion and Conflict Resolution from the Open University of Catalonia in Spain.
Lama has held leadership roles in prominent international NGOs, including Head of Delegation at Terre des Hommes in Lebanon and Deputy Country Director Head of Programmes at DanChurchAid in Cox’s Bazar, Bangladesh.
Prior to returning as the global CEO in 2024, Lama worked at GFP’s Amman, Jordan, headquarters from 2008 to 2020 as Programs Director, where she played a vital role in establishing and developing the Programs Department and overseeing the successful implementation of over 35 local and international programs.
Dedicated to improving the quality of life for children and marginalized groups, Lama is an avid advocate for women and youth empowerment through sports. She also serves as a board member of the Free to Run organisation.
Embracing both personal and professional challenges, Lama and her twin sister were the first female ultramarathon runners in the Middle East to take part in the famous endurance race Marathon des Sables. She is also an avid hiker, cyclist and mountain climber, always striving for excellence, and inspiring others to achieve their best.
